A new work by Gita Hashemi, Archive Iran: Encounters with a Century is a process-based, research-driven project that takes shape in #TavakoliArchive, a unique archive of 20th century material from Iran, presently housed in Toronto. The project will produce multiple art-driven encounters with the collection for the public. It aims to create spaces for exploring public-private dynamics, rethinking East-West dichotomies, and investigating our contemporary image of and imagination about Iran.
